When I was 15 years old, my grandfather gave me his 1970 F-100. He had inherited it in 1977 after his father passed away. My great-grandfather had purchased the truck brand new in 1970, making me the third-generation owner.  I drove that truck throughout high school and college, but after that, it sat for nearly 12 years.   

     In early 2021, shortly after I got it running again, Brian and Jeff called and told me they were thinking about starting a car and truck club called Altered Intentions. They asked if I wanted to be a part of it.  At that point, I had never entered my truck in a car show. A few weeks later, I entered my first show, and I was hooked. I loved seeing all the different cars and trucks, meeting new people, and being part of the automotive community. If you know me, you know I’m not shy and will talk to just about anyone. 

     What started as a few friends going to car shows has grown into something much bigger. We began hosting our own annual show, raising money through raffles and giving back to the community. We were able to purchase much-needed tools and a car hauler for the newly established Sanger High School Auto Tech program.

     Since then, we’ve become an official nonprofit organization and now provide scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing careers in the automotive industry.  It has been incredibly rewarding to watch this club grow and to see the positive impact we’ve been able to make in just a few short years. I’m proud to serve as the Vice President of Altered Intentions and excited to see what the future holds for our club and the community we serve.
